One New Voices participant from Lighthouse Community School addressed the audience of over 700 attendees at the 2015 Mayerson Service Learning Conference at the University of Cincinnati.
Amaya, a student at Lighthouse Community School in Madisonville, worked with seniors in assisted living at St. Paul Retirement Community in Madisonville, a division of Episcopal Retirement Homes. Amaya formed strong connections with her partners, sharing stories, learning from their experience and creating scrapbooks for her partners with images and stories she recorded during the program.
