Upcoming events for Prairie's New Voices photo program for high school students:
Wyoming High School students will show their work with Sarah Center artists at St. Francis Seraph School on June 9 from 1:00-3:00 pm. During the Spring of 2013, nine Wyoming students photographed the work of the artisan training program at the Sarah Center, part of Saint Francis Seraph Ministries in Over-the-Rhine. Sarah Center artists are economically challenged women who are gaining skills in jewelry making, quilting and other disciplines in order to become self-sustaining.
Summit Country Day students worked with Our Daily Bread during the Spring of 2013 to create portraits of guests and record personal biographies. Work from this program will be shown at Our Daily Bread on July 26 from 3-6 pm.
Next at Prairie Gallery, Pain, Images by J. Michael Skaggs. In this recent series, Skaggs explores a chronic pain condition through multi-layered imagery. Opening reception September 14, 2013.
Prairie Gallery is located at 4035 Hamilton Avenue in Northside. 582-9833. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-4.
