New Voices exhibiting work at historic Betts House

New Voices will show work at the historic Betts House from Sycamore High School students working in collaboration with members of the Exodus program at City Gospel Mission from September 2 through November 22. Opening reception September 13, 2-4 pm. The Betts House is located at 416 Clark Street, Cincinnati, OH, 45203.

2015 Day by Day Calendar Released September 13, 2014

Prairie worked with the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition and the Mayerson Service Learning program this past summer to produce the 2014 Day by Day Calendar.

Prairie partners with UC’s School of Art to lead teams of high school and UC students through a short educational program in contemporary lens-based media. Opening reception October 9, 6-8 pm, Meyers Gallery, University of Cincinnati.

New Voices to Exhibit at the Freedom Center, November 2014

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will show work from New Voices students from SCPA and residents of Joseph House during the 2014 Fotofocus festival in October, 2014. Opening September 20 through December 13. Special reception in honor of Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 10, 3-5 pm.

Prairie Partners with the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children in the Summer of 2014

This past summer, Prairie partnered with the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Children’s Hospital to create a set of images which participating youth have created and identified as positive and safe views of their world.

New Voices: SCPA and Recovery Hotel, Fall, 2014

SCPA students work with residents of the Recovery Hotel to interpret the changing nature of Over-the-Rhine through images and words.

New Voices: Milford High School and Joseph House, Fall, 2014

Milford High School students work with residents of the Joseph House, an agency which assists veteran’s in dependent situations with programming to reconnect them to jobs, family and home. Students and residents will interpret the community surrounding the Joseph House in Over-the-Rhine through photography and writin.

If These Walls Could Speak: Fotofocus Biennial Festival of Photography

As part of the Fotofocus, 2014 biennial photography festival in Cincinnati, Prairie is producing a collaborative photo project titled “If These Walls Could Speak” using the camera obscura, an ancient imaging device to create expressive images. Opening reception October 11, 6-8 pm, Prairie Gallery in Northside.
