SCPA students work with residents of the Recovery Hotel to interpret the changing nature of Over-the-Rhine through images and words.
The Recovery Hotel is operated by Over-the-Rhine Community Housing, an agency which assists those in dependent situations to transition into affordable housing and to gain vocational and social skills they require to become independent. Students in the creative writing program at SCPA are working in small groups with partners from Recovery Hotel to document the Gateway Area of Over-the-Rhine in which Recovery Hotel is located. Locations include Washington Park, Buddy’s Place, a transitional housing facility operated by Over-the-Rhine Community Housing and Prince of Peace. Final work from the project will be put on permanent display at Recovery Hotel.
