Kids Again: Prairie’s Fotofocus 2016 Exhibit

Posted on August 17, 2016

Prairie presents images and reflections by teen residents of subsidized housing programs run by the Housing Authority of Covington.

During the summer of 2016, five teens from City Heights and Latonia Terrace participated in an intensive photography program, creating almost 5,000 images of sites throughout Greater Cincinnati as well as their own back yards. Images ranged from the sublime to the mundane. Students interpreted the amazing flora of Krohn Conservatory, Findlay Market and Washington Park among other sites. They created compositions in their own communities with subject matter ranging from fences and doorways to pit bulls in cages. The exhibit of their work featured images along with personal reflections by all participants. This creative work was compiled into an accompanying exhibit catalog.
