This project pairs ten gifted high school students with ten fine art or art education students from the University of Cincinnati’s School of Art to explore “What’s Next” in their field by learning new techniques, developing an artistic concept and executing a small series of works that investigates the future of fine art practices incorporating photography. This project culminates with a collaborative exhibition to be displayed at the University of Cincinnati’s Myers Art Gallery during Fotofocus, 2014. This program aims to provide an educational opportunity for high school and college level students to become aware of recent developments in contemporary photography, as well as provide them with ways to become and remain active in their field once they are outside of the school environment. It is also gives Fotofocus visitors the unique chance to see recent work being created by the talented students from Cincinnati.
