Fotofocus: If These Walls Could Speak

October 11, 2014 - December 06, 2014

Prairie’s community camera obscura project for Fotofocus at Prairie Gallery during the October, 2014 Fotofocus Biennial Festival of Photography.

Prairie worked with three community organizations to produce a series of images made using the camera obscura, an ancient imaging device which was the precursor to the modern camera. Students in Lincoln Heights, Lower Price Hill and Avondale learned about photography by creating camera obscura installations and using point and shoot cameras to document their neighborhoods. The Prairie exhibit included images made by the camera obscura as well as student digital photography.
